Locals speak on President Trump Inauguration ceremony
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - As Donald Trump was sworn in Friday morning at the Capitol, locals tuned in to watch the ceremony and speech of the now 45th President of the United States.
“We the citizens of America, are now joined in a great national effort, to rebuild our country, and restore its promise, for all of our people" said President Trump.
The swearing in of the now President Trump, has a lot of locals talking about the historic Inauguration.
“I thought it was very well put together, I was very pleased with the speech Trump gave it gave me a lot of hope for the future, and I really do believe that he is going to make this country great again" said resident Fonda Boney. University of Southern Mississippi (USM) student Jaylon Davis said, “I will say that Donald Trump has his ways, sometimes good, sometimes bad, but most importantly he is the President, and you gotta respect the President of the United States, you know?”
Viewers said the prayer during the ceremony spoke volumes and was important. “The prayer was amazing, and the fact that he acknowledges Jesus and the bible he is really gonna help us" said Celeste Malone. Her husband Johnny Malone said, “This country was founded on God and I believe that’s they way it needs to be." B.J. Clarke said, “I was really pleased with the fact that they still swear in on the bible, that was really pleasing to me, and I enjoyed this morning, that they go to the church, that was really neat.”
USM Freshman student Tatum Cave said he is just glad he did not miss the ceremony. “I thought it was a good production, I was anticipating it a lot, I did not like how early I had to get up though, I got the times wrong" said Cave.
Other viewers watching, well, not all eyes were on President Trump. “I think his wife looked stunning, she definitely did have the Jackie Kennedy vibe, she was very pretty" said Tyra Willamor.
