Southern Miss takes advantage of National Signing Day
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss took advantage of National Signing Day and now has its recruiting class.
The Golden Eagles signed 24 players, and half of them are defensive backs and linemen.
Head coach, Jay Hopson is excited that the process is over and that he has his guys.
"We'll find out in August who's going to play, who's going to redshirt. You won't know until then. But, it's a great group of guys. I always talk about Southern Miss guys. These guys are Southern Miss guys. It's a group of young men I think of high character. I think they're guys that are tough. Guys that we kind of pride ourselves on, chip-on-the-shoulder guys. So, it's a group that I'm excited about," said Hopson.
Majority of the recruits were from high school and not from JUCO.
Most of Coach Hopson's new guys are from Mississippi and Florida.
