'PetSmart Charities' donates to Southern Pines Animal Shelter, 600 bags pet food

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - PetSmart Charities donated 600 bags of pet food and 150 pet houses Thursday for animals displaced by the E-F3 tornado in January.

Southern Pines Animal Shelter (SPAS) Ginny Sims said SPAS will deliver the supplies Saturday morning at the tornado sites for families and animals who need it most.

“There's so much help in the community, and we so we wanted to do our part" said Sims.

She added, "These supplies help us go out and make sure, the pets are taken care of, so the people can feel, comforted and at ease, knowing that their pets have everything that they need, so the people can take care of themselves too.”
