Southern Miss will help William Carey, Pine Belt Recovery Day
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's basketball team will be looking to get another home win Saturday, but that is not all that will be happening.
Both William Carey's men and women's basketball games will also be played at Reed Green Coliseum Saturday, as part of Pine Belt Community Recovery Day.
This is not only a chance for Southern Miss to help out William Carey with playing a home basketball game, but it is also another way to give back.
Senior associate athletic director, Brent Jones said, "Obviously everyone knows the impact that William Carey has received from the tornado. We're using this hopefully as a fundraiser for the Salvation Army, as well as for William Carey University. We're taking donations at all three games, with 50 percent of those donations going to the Salvation Army. It's a very, very special deal as part of that. So, we want to encourage everyone to come out."
-William Carey's men's team will play at 1 p.m. against Faulkner.
-Southern Miss will play Western Kentucky at 4 p.m.
-William Carey's women's team will play at 6 p.m. against Faulkner.
This will also be William Carey's last home game in Hattiesburg for the rest of the season.
