The City of Hattiesburg offers free demolition services for tornado victims

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The City of Hattiesburg’s Public Works Director, Larry Barnes, is pleased to announce a partnership between the City’s Public Works Department and R3Sm to provide demolition and recovery services to those Hattiesburg residents who were affected by the recent January tornado. Mr. Barnes stated that the department was working with numerous agencies throughout the city and state in efforts to safely demolish those structures that were severely damaged and thus deemed uninhabitable by city code enforcement standards.

This free service will be available for a limited time and will be scheduled on a first-come, first served basis while services are available. To qualify for demolition services, you must meet the following conditions:

• Fill out an application for demolition

• Be the Property owner

• Have valid identification

• Property has no liens against it

Applications are being accepted by Jacquline McClain at 1202 James Street and by R3Sm located at 301 Buchman St.
