Golf Day for Carey
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - William Carey University is having a golf fundraiser to benefit the student recovery fund, and help those students who lost valuables in the tornado.
Hattiesburg Country Club, Canebrake Country Club, Shadow Ridge Golf Club, and Timberton Golf Club will have a golf day for those who wish to help support William Carey students.
Senior project manager, Richard Vogel said, "This will pay for lost textbooks, lost equipment, lost clothing, cars that were damaged severely in the storm. We had over 200 cars damaged, and 105 of them were totaled. So, we're trying to reimburse the students. And, I'm just hoping people will adopt William Carey as a great university and as a great cause for charitable contributions."
Golf Day for Carey begins March 3.
100 percent of the money goes to charity. Vogel said 216 golfers have signed up so far.
