Claiborne residents celebrate Mardi Gras

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -Residents at the Claiborne celebrated Mardi Gras Monday. The residents made their own Mardi Gras version called the 'Krewe De Lu Claiborne'.

There were more than 100 people at the event. Claiborne's Executive Sales Cindy Warren said, "They love a party here and they like to be active, they like to go places, and we also bring things to them.”

Residents enjoyed music, food, and dancing. “Hey listen being retired at the Claiborne is a luxury, if you haven’t been at the Claiborne you haven’t lived" said Claiborne's Executive Director.

This year's King and Queen voted by the community are King Bill Flathau and Queen Edith Baer.

The Claiborne plans to have another event next year.
