HPD investigates armed robbery incident

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - An armed robbery happened Monday on US Highway 49 near Dandy Dan's.

Hattiesburg Police said an unknown suspect approached a woman with a handgun and demanded her purse and cell phone. The woman gave the items to the suspect, and the suspect then hit her in the head.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
