JCJC's Strickland signs with Southern Miss; Stiglets signs with Louisiana Tech

ELLISVILLE, Miss. - The JCJC baseball team is currently enjoying a (33-1) overall record.

But, Thursday, a couple of key players officially took the next step to continue their baseball careers.

Pitcher, Mason Strickland signed with Southern Miss. And pitcher, Ben Stiglets signed with Louisiana Tech.

"It feels good. It's a lot of relief off of my back. Now I just get to play knowing that I am going to go somewhere next year. And I think it's going to be a fun two years after this," said Stiglets.

"It's a dream come true. I didn't really expect to go to Southern Miss after this. I came last year and I did what I did, and I guess I'm kind of rewarded for it," said Strickland.

"We spent two years now as really good friends and I think it's going to be good to play on the opposite side of the diamond now," said Stiglets.

"Yeah, it's already a little rivalry anyway trying to get more wins than he can this year. But, I mean, nothing is going to change. At the end of the day, we're all friends, and that's how it's going to stay," said Strickland.

Strickland will play with current teammates Fred Franklin and Erick Hoard at Southern Miss.

Stiglets will play with current teammates Tanner Huddleston, Logan Robbins, and Jonathon Parker at Louisiana Tech.
