Commissioner Britton gives update on Arnold Line Water dispute
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Public Service Commissioner Sam Britton gave an update on the Arnold Line Water and Public Service Commission dispute.
Earlier this month the utility company filed an exception appealing changes to its rules and regulations that were ordered by the Public Service Commission.
Commissioner Britton said, "“Well right now they have filed their notice and now they will be given the opportunity to file a brief."
The water company refuses to change its rules and remove the sign in its office. Arnold Line has agreements with the city of Hattiesburg, Lamar Park, and Westover West to cut off water if sewers bills are not paid.
Arnold Line said it won't and does not need to file a petition to keep them. Britton said, "After they file that brief, then we will set a date, for them to come before the full Commission and then make oral arguments.”
Britton was the guest speaker at the Forrest and Lamar Republican Women Tuesday at Movie Star in Oak Grove.
