JCJC's Myyah West signs with the University of Houston

ELLISVILLE, Miss. - The JCJC women's basketball team had a successful year as they finished the season with a (30-2) overall record.

Their star forward, Myyah West made it official Wednesday and signed her letter of intent to play for the University of Houston Cougars.

"It feels great. I feel like I'm going right home. When I went there, I really felt like it was a family environment, and they treated me really well. I think I can come in and contribute well. I can give all the energy I have. I can push everybody else to be better too," said West.

"We're excited for her to have an opportunity to go on and continue her career. She deserves that. She's going to immediately bring a lot of energy. She plays hard on both ends of the floor. Rebounds the ball extremely well, and can score in bunches. She's had big games for us over her career. She's an amazing kid. A good person. And, will bring a lot of things, as far as on the court, and a lot of intangibles off the floor as well," said head coach, Missy Bilderback.

West averaged 10.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game as a Bobcat, and will look to continue to have success, now as a Cougar.
