USM hosts Veterans Affairs Administrator of Mississippi conference

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss hosted this year's annual Veterans Affairs Administrator of Mississippi conference over the last couple of days.

This event had statewide and regional VA representatives from universities and colleges who provide services to military students. And they discussed ways to better improve their services.

David Lewis, education liaison for Louisiana and Mississippi said, "They come in with many issues when they come into a college. New students, even veteran students that have been enrolled for several years. They still have issues. Personal or within the college that needs to be worked out. These school officials are front line. They see them on a daily basis and they're able to get the correct information to them."
