LPD seeks two juvenile females involved in vandalism

LAUREL, Miss. - Laurel Police recently received reports of vandalism in the downtown area.

Police said they are currently talking with two young men who were involved in spray painting an alleyway and a couple of vehicles. Police are also looking for two juvenile females who were involved.

Laurel Police Officer, Cpt. Tommy Cox said, “It’s important with anybody. But there’s been a big resurgence in downtown over the last several years, and it’s doing great. We don’t want to get things started where people think it’s okay just to paint on walls. We’ve had problems with kids on skateboards and that kind of thing because of the geography of downtown, and the walls, and the bricks. And that’s one thing. But when you start damaging people’s property, then obviously, we’re going to pursue that. If they’re juvenile, they’re going to be sent through the youth court. Otherwise, they’re going to be sent through adult court.”

If you know of any information, you can contact the Laurel Police Department at (601) 425-4711.
