Hub City man arrested for assaulting an officer

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - One man was arrested Thursday for assaulting an officer.

Hattiesburg Police said they conducted a traffic stop in the area of Deason Avenue and Annie Street, and noticed that Jermaine Coleman, 34, had brass knuckles in his pocket.

Coleman was placed in a patrol car, and spit on an officer.

Coleman was arrested for simple assault.

The investigation is ongoing.
