Pine Belt travelers encouraged to sign-up for TSA Pre-Enrollment

PINE BELT, MS. - The Hattiesburg-Laurel Regional Airport is hosting a TSA Pre-Enrollment Program for the week of June 12-16, 2017.

All air-travelers of the Pine Belt area are encouraged to use this week as an opportunity to avoid long lines and inconveniences, such as removing shoes, at larger airports.

Tom Heanue, the Executive Director, says “This will probably be our last enrollment center for this area.”

Members of the Hattiesburg-Laurel Regional Airport strive to create a safe and convenient environment for all air-travelers using the local airport. Heanue says “It is a great benefit if you are a person who travels a lot during the year."

He adds, "When you get to some of the larger ones [airports] coming back…you go into a different line, so you do not have to take off your shoes, or your coat. You get a little more expedited."

The enrollment center is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

To make an appointment for TSA PreCheck Enrollment, visit https://www.tsa.gov/precheck.

After doing so, visit the TSA PreCheck Center and complete your enrollment in person. There is an application fee of $85, which is good for up to five years.

The fee can be paid during your appointment via credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier’s check.

Cash and personal checks are not accepted.

All who are enrolling will need to bring documentation proving identity and citizenship status. During the in-person enrollment process, finger-prints of the enrollees will be documented.

Walk-ins are available on a limited basis.
