Laurel Battalion Chief Suspended
LAUREL, MISS
LAUREL, MS. - The Laurel Fireman at the center of the controversy between the Laurel Fire Department and Jones County Volunteer Fire Department has been suspended for two weeks without pay.
Captain Larry Marks, a 20 year Veteran with the Laurel Fire Department was the Battalion Chief in charge when he did not send help to county firefighters to battle a fire. Marks said city firemen were out to lunch.
Chief James Brown said Marks will also not be allowed to serve as a Battalion Chief in the future.
