United Blood Services hosts blood drive at JCJC
ELLISVILLE, Miss. - United Blood Services stopped by JCJC Wednesday to give people an opportunity to donate blood and become a hero.
Senior donor recruitment representative, Beverly Clark said, "We cannot do what we do without people donating blood. And today, we set a goal to collect 48 units. It's been a little bit slower than what we had hoped for, but we are maximizing our donors. Every blood type is needed for double reds. So if a donor comes in and meets the qualifications for automation, we're definitely asking them to give a double dose today."
Clark said they ended up collecting 39 units of blood.
