South Mississippi Corrections Officer arrested for contraband
GREENE COUNTY, Miss. - A South Mississippi Correctional Institution officer is in the midst of losing his job after attempting to sneak in contraband Saturday.
Officials said Marcus Nelson, 30, admitted to officers that he was carrying tobacco and cellphones in his groin area for two inmates.
Nelson was taken from a prison in Leakesville to Greene County Jail, and is facing a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
