When questioned, Keys admitted he shot the victim after he drove up to the victim’s home and heard gunfire. Keys had been embroiled in an argument over drugs earlier in the week, drove over to the house to confront the other party and believed he was being fired upon. Keys blindly returned fire and struck the victim in the face. A criminal history check of Keys showed that he was a convicted felon, and furthermore, the gun he used in the shooting was stolen.
Keys was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault, Receiving Stolen Property and Felon Possession of Firearm.
