City officials talk local government to Leadership Pinebelt class
HATTIESBURG, MS. - Members of the 2017 Leadership Pinebelt organization are taking a six month program which allows them to explore different realms inside the Hattiesburg community.
On Wednesday Mayor Toby Barker and Federal Court Judge Keith Starrett discussed with the class about how they can get involved with local politics.
Mayor Barker says, " It is up to them after this program is over, to really find their place, their niche, in this fabric that we have that is called Hattiesburg."
He adds, "...And really try to find a way to contribute in going forward and never stop trying in being a servant leader.”
The class finishes their program in October. To learn more about Leadership Pinebelt you can click here.
