Four injured after Howard Johnson hotel fire

HATTIESBURG, Miss.- Four people were injured in a fire at the Howard Johnson hotel Friday night.

The fire erupted at the Highway 49 location before midnight. Hattiesburg Fire Department Investigator, Stephen Mooney stated "one person is currently sustaining varying burn degrees from their shoulders to their feet,"

The other three individuals, a mother, a child and a male were sent to medical treatment for smoke inhalation.

HFD said it appears to be a possible electrical aspect that may have caused the fire. The incident is still under investigation.
