USM Athletic Director, Jon Gilbert: 'We got one of the top tailbacks in the country'

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Golden Eagles will be playing the Kentucky Wildcats at home Saturday to start off the 2017 season, and are hoping to beat them for the second year in a row.

Athletic Director, Jon Gilbert shared his thoughts for this season.

"I'm very supportive of Jay (Hopson) and our football program. I look forward to watching our team play. I know we got some exciting returners. We got one of the top tailbacks in the country. I'm so excited to watch us play, watch us compete, and I look forward to The Rock on Saturday in Hattiesburg," said Gilbert.

Kickoff is at 3 p.m.
