Pine Belt School Closings

The following schools will be closed in our area due to severe weather threat from Hurricane Nate. If you do not see your school information on this list, contact your school for school closing information.

WILLIAM CAREY UNIVERSITY

William Carey University Hattiesburg campus will be closed from 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, until 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 8. Students who live close enough to go to their homes and students who can stay with friends or relatives in the area are asked to vacate the campus by 5 p.m. Students and employees will be allowed to return to the campus after 4 p.m. on Sunday, pending no changes in weather. Monday classes will resume as scheduled.

JONES COMMUNITY JUNIOR COLLEGE

[if !supportLists][endif]All Residence Halls will close on Friday, October 6 at 2:00 p.m. and reopen to students on Monday, October 9 at 2:00 p.m. [endif]All college operations will be closed on Monday, October 9. All day and night classes (including credit and non-credit) have been canceled. The college will return to regular operations on Tuesday, October 10 for regular scheduled classes and events.

This college closing includes: JCJC Main Campus, JCJC Clarke County Center, JCJC Greene County Center, JCJC Jasper County Center, JCJC Wayne County Center and Advanced Technology Center
