Laurel Mayor Signs Proclamation

Laurel Mayor, Johnny Magee signed a proclamation Thursday, directed to officials of the Laurel Housing Authority making October "Housing America" month.

"We hope to bring awareness to the fact... many people that don't have affordable housing," Mayor Magee said. " If you are living on a minimum wage job its almost impossible to be able to pay rent or to ever buy a home, and we want to bring awareness to that. We want the word to get out that affordable housing is something that in this country that should be available to all people.
