A child is hospitalized and a suspect in jail after a shooting Saturday afternoon in Laurel.
Witnesses told police a suspect fired several shots in the 1000 block of North 2nd Avenue -- and later fled the scene in a silver vehicle. Police say a ten-year-old child was wounded in the incident.
Police say the suspect -- Travis Lamont Lindsey, 29 -- turned himself into authorities. The child is currently hospitalized in a Jackson Hospital.
Lindsey was charged with the following today:
Aggravated Assault - $75,000
Attempted Aggravated Assault - $75,000
Shooting into an occupied Dwelling - $50,000
Drive by Shooting - $50,000
Ex-Con in Possession of a Firearm -$5,000
Lindsey’s bond was revoked from an Ex-Con charge earlier this month and he is being held in the Jones County Jail.
