1 dead, 1 injured and 1 charged with DUI

HATTIESBURG, Miss - One man is behind bars after a car accident claimed the life of one pedestrian and critically injured another.

According to Hattiesburg Police Department, 25-year-old, Justin Williamson of Biloxi, crashed on U.S. Highway 49 near Interstate 59 early Saturday morning, where a man and a woman were both walking along the road at 2 a.m.

Both the man and woman turned victim when Williamson struck his Black Ford Expedition into the pair. The victims were transported to Forrest General Hospital. Later that morning the male, identified as 26-year-old Seth Allen Johnson, died from his injuries.

Authorities reported the female involved is currently in critical condition. Williamson was charged with DUI negligence of driver resulting in death.
