Expedia recognizes Hattiesburg as "Buzz Worthy" holiday shopping location

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Popular travel website, Expedia, recognizes Hattiesburg as one of the best American towns for holiday shopping.

Expedia monitored over three million social media posts and honed in on conversations relating to local shops and holiday markets. The company found Hattiesburg as a 2017 trending topic.

“The holidays are always filled with nostalgia and wanting to go home and just that feeling of closeness and community. Hattiesburg does all of those things so well," said Executive Director of Visit Hattiesburg, Marlo Dorsey. "We have an enormous amount of local shopping options. While you can do a lot of shopping for the holidays online Hattiesburg really offers great options for people to walk into a store front see the sights, smell the smells and really feel a part of that community.”
