Hattiesburg Police Department collects toys for child victims of violence

HATTIESBURG, Miss - Hattiesburg Police Department officials are asking for your help this Holiday.

HPD wants you to join them in collecting and donating toys for children of the Victim's Service Unit for their fourth annual toy drive at Ryan's Chevrolet.

“They’re going to have a truck designated, you can come stuff the truck for toys not just for infants or toddlers, we have some children that are going to be teens. We’re going to adopt children who have been victims of violent crimes also the Mississippi’s children shelter. So there are kids ranging from all ages, from age 7 all the way to 18. So we encourage the public to get out and bring those toys and brings those gifts that are unwrapped and put a smile on a kid’s face that may be less fortunate,” said HPD Spokeswoman, LaTosha Meyers.

People can take toys, toiletries and other Christmas donations to Ryan's Chevrolet until December 15.
