Academy Sports donate 30 bikes to North Forrest School students

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Academy Sports and Outdoors surprised 30 deserving North Forrest Elementary students in Hattiesburg with bicycles and helmets Monday.

The company donated the bicycles as apart of their annual bike donation program. Store Director, James Lamb, said this is the sixteenth year his team participated in giving back to the community.

“I can remember when I was a kid and getting a bicycle is one of the greatest joys in the world. These students – we’re glad we can help 30 of them out. The look son their faces were just priceless. We had a great time with them. It gives students an incentive to strive for excellence that’s what we want,” James explained.

The entire holiday bike program benefits more than 5,100 students and provides local schools an opportunity to reward children for perfect attendance, academic performance, good behavior and need.
