School closings for December 8

The following schools and districts have notified FOX 23 they will not meet for class Friday because of traffic-related weather concerns.

Lamar County Schools

Wayne County Schools

Jefferson Davis County Schools will operate under a delay and be ready by 10 a.m.; the district plans to dismiss school at normal closing time.

Covington County Schools will operate under a delay and be ready by 10 a.m.; the district plans to dismiss school at normal closing time. School administrators, teachers and staff will report at 9:30 a.m.

UNIVERSITIES/COLLEGES

William Carey University: Main Hattiesburg campus

JCJC: Main Campus in Ellisville, Wayne County Center, Greene County Center will close Friday (Advanced Technology Center, Clarke County Center, Jasper County Center, e-Learning Testing Center, and Prometric/Pearson Testing Center will remain open under regular operations on Friday)

PRCC: All campuses will open at noon on Friday. Tests that were scheduled for 8 a.m. will begin at noon. Tests that were scheduled for 10 a.m. will begin at 2 p.m.
