Hattiesburg mayor swears in two new police officers

HATTIESBURG, Miss -- Mayor Toby Barker sworn in Joshua Gandy and Dawn Garcia as the newest officers of the Hattiesburg Police Department.

City Hall tells FOX 23 Gandy is transferring from Lamar County Sheriff's Department, where he serves as a part-time deputy. Gandy previously worked for the sheriff's departments of Forrest and Covington Counties.

Garcia comes to HPD from Forrest General Hospital's Police Department. She also has experience with Laurel Police Department and the Forrest County Jail.
