Hattiesburg Zoo showcase new wallabies and walk-through exhibit
This is a press release from the Hattiesburg Convention Commission.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Hattiesburg Zoo’s Australia exhibit is scheduled to open February 16 at 11:00 a.m. The Australia exhibit will be a walk-through habitat featuring wallabies, emus, and kunekune pigs. The wallabies, one female and four males, have been spending their time in quarantine inside the Zoo’s holding facility before being introduced to the exhibit space.
“Adding a new continent is a great step forward to our presentation of animals across the globe,” Executive Director Rick Taylor said. “This exhibit is so special because it removes barriers between the animals and guests and allows our visitors to learn about conservation in a hands-on environment where they can interact with and gain a true understanding of nature around the world,” said Taylor.
