R3SM Home Building Update, Home Almost Complete in less than a Week
HATTIESBURG, MISS. – R3SM making progress in its home building blitz. Four days ago (Monday), R3SM said homeowner James Eaton’s house would be complete in three days (by the end of Thursday) and ready to move in. However, the organization could not fully meet their original goal.
“It's a part of relationships and we believe that building relationships builds the community, and a group from Prairie Grove, Arkansas came and helped us build these two homes, and they are not completed but they are dried-in, and that's where the community relationships are going to step in,” Associational Mission Strategist for Pine Belt Baptist Association, Will Wall said.
R3SM and the Pine Belt Baptist Association needs the community's help getting James Eaton’s house move-in ready. “These two homes, we still have to do heating, electric, and plumbing,” Wall said. The January 2017 EF-3 tornado damaged Eaton’s home forcing him to try to stay in a house with poor living conditions. “A bunch of the time, I was staying in the house and it had gotten so bad, I couldn't stay in there cause of the mold,” Eaton said. Thanks to a group of Arkansas volunteers who started rebuilding Eaton’s home Sunday. The foundation to Eaton’s house is laid. Now, Wall and R3SM Volunteer Coordinator, Chris Adams, just need Pine Belt residents to step and put the finishing touches on Eaton’s home. “God always has a plan and we just look forward to seeing what he's going to do in this process,” Wall said.
