Chris McDaniel Lawsuit
HATTIESBURG, MISS. - A lawsuit has been filed against a super PAC supporting Mississippi Senatorial candidate Chris McDaniel for allegations of illegal campaign contributions.
McDaniel, a state senator from Ellisville, is challenging Cindy Hyde-Smith for Thad Cochran’s soon to be vacant Senate seat.
Meanwhile, "campaign legal center" in Washington filed a complaint with the federal election commission alleging that the "remember Mississippi PAC" funded by GOP mega-donor Robert Mercer took unprecedented steps of organizing, funding, and advertising three McDaniel campaign events.
The center says super PAC's are categorically prohibited from making contributions to candidates.
