Forrest General Presents Stop The Bleed

This is a press release from Forrest General Hospital.

Hattiesburg, Miss. - Forrest General's Trauma Services will offer a free class titled Stop the Bleed. Attendees will learn how to control bleeding using a tourniquet as well as how to stop bleeding by packing wounds. The class will be held Friday, March 30, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the hospital's Hickory and Maple meeting rooms. This course is not eligible for continuing educati0on credit.

"In many emergency situations, lives can be saved is bystanders take action to control or stop bleeding before emergency personnel arrive or on the way to the Emergency Room. We hope this class will empower members of our community to take action in these types of situations and save lives," said Duncan Donald, MD, medical director of Trauma Services.
