Two State Senators visit William Carey University

HATTIESBURG, MISS. - State senators Billy Hudson and John Polk visited William Carey University Thursday morning to honor the school's Osteopathic Medicine Program. The senators presented a proclamation to the school declaring this week as "Osteopathic Medicine Week." “You may know Mississippi as we all know ranks near last, if not last in health for our population. We got to change that,” State Senator, John Polk said. “There are many ways to do it, but you the students that I’m looking at right now are going to be Mississippi’s best way to change that.” State Senator Bill Hudson followed-up Sen. Polk’s comments by providing statistics. “Today, we got 857 Osteopathic graduates serving in Mississippi, all over the state,” Sen. Hudson said. “That is great, and we got another 400 students here, and another graduating class coming in May.”
