This press release comes from Columbia High School
HATTIESBURG, MISS. - Tuesday morning, Columbia High School hosted its first College Signing Day in the Crystelle Ford Auditorium. Ninety-seven students pledged their “collegiance” to sixteen different colleges today in the hour-long program. Underclassmen in grades 9-11 were in attendance as well as many parents/guardians. CHS served as a “spotlight” school for the program and hosted several special guests from the MS Department of Education, the MS Community College Board, the MS Institutions of Higher Learning, and Get 2 College. CHS is proud of the hard work and accomplishments of all of their students and their commitment to continuing their education beyond high school. The school plans to make this an annual celebration each year, and they are hoping that these events will encourage all students to continue to strive for excellence in education.
