National Day of Prayer in Jones County

HATTIESBURG, MISS. - At noon, Thursday, churches from across Jones County gathered at the Jones County Courthouse in Laurel for a National Day of Prayer. Thursday's theme "Pray for America: Unity" focused on residents praying for the nation, state, and county as part of the National Day of Prayer for 2018. The event featured multiple activities ranging from prayers by several different Jones County pastors, Christian music, the Pledge of Allegiance and a time of reflection. "This is what it's all about, coming together in unity and crying out to God on behalf of each and every one of us," Pastor Eddie Cooper, of Life Ministry in Christ said. "When the prayers go up, I feel like the blessings will come down, but we shouldn't just do it one day. We should pray every day."
