Jones Co. Sheriff's Dept. issues warrants in case involving drugs, burglary

JONES COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI – On May 25, 2018 Jones County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on Violet Drive in the Pleasant Ridge community for a vehicle burglary. The victim reported his wallet, containing several cards with his name on them and other forms of identity, was missing from his vehicle. The victim was alerted that someone had attempted to use his debit card three different times within 15-minutes.

Jones County Sheriff’s Investigators discovered the debit card had been used at a convenience store on Ellisville Blvd. and went to the location to view video surveillance. It was determined that Marcus Nixon, 29 of Ellisville, was the suspect. After watching the video, Investigators were able to retrieve some of the items stolen from the victim’s vehicle.

On May 30, 2018, investigators were granted a search warrant for a residence on Camp Street in Ellisville, Nixon’s last known address. Ellisville Police Department was contacted for assistance in executing the warrant. During the search of the residence, investigators and deputies located and recovered 2 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, just over an ounce of high-grade marijuana, over one dozen dosage units of Ecstasy, several thousand dollars in cash and a handgun.

It was also determined this was the current address for Timothy Roberts, 35.

The Jones County Sheriff’s Department has arrest warrants for Nixon and Roberts, wanted for Trafficking Methamphetamine and Possession with Intent. If you have any information on their location, please contact the Jones County Sheriff’s Department at (601)425-3147.
