Jones Co., Soso authorities charge businessman with burglary

(The following press release comes from the Jones County Sheriff's Department.)

JONES COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI – On or around May 7, 2018 Royals Western Wear in Soso was burglarized. Taken from the store, cash and a weapon. On or around May 11, 2018 Royals Western Wear was once again burglarized, this time several pieces of merchandise were taken.

The Soso Police Department asked for the assistance of the Jones County Sheriff’s Department in working the incidents. Jones County’s thorough investigation uncovered Justin L. Hughes, Jr., 26 of Laurel and Tyler P. Windham, 27 of Laurel, as participating in the burglary. As more information was gathered it became evident there was a connection to at least one of the burglaries and co-owner of Royals Western Wear, Derrick Wade, 34 of Bay Springs.

Hughes and Windham were taken into custody and charged with Commercial Burglary. Their bond was set at $10,000 each.

Wade was taken into custody on June 6, 2018 and charged with Conspiracy to Commit a Crime and Commercial Burglary. His initial appearance is scheduled for June 8, 2018 at 1:00pm at Jones County Justice Court.

This intensive investigation continues. Further details will be forthcoming.
