United Way’s Day of Action Empowering Volunteers

HATTIESBURG, MISS. – On June 21, 2018, United Way of Southeast Mississippi rallied volunteers throughout the community for Day of Action, a global event that mobilizes the caring power of volunteers to make a meaningful impact in more than 450 communities around the world.

In the Pine Belt area, local businesses and their employees participated in Day of Action on various projects including donation drives, Habitat for Humanity builds and unloading the Mississippi Food Network truck at Edwards Street Fellowship.

Additionally, individuals will be helped with preparations for the annual Project Homeless Connect event and putting together Literacy Kits for children in the summer reading program.
