Change of Command at Camp Shelby

HATTIESBURG, MISS. –The 177th Armored Brigade will formally welcome two new battalion commanders during change of command ceremonies at Spearhead Field here, June 28.

The first ceremony starts at 8 a.m. for 1st Battalion, 305th Infantry Regiment. During the ceremony Lt. Col. John J. Geis III will relinquish command of the ‘Raven’ Bn. to Lt. Col. Adam L. Lowmaster who arrives to Camp Shelby from South Korea where he served as the battalion commander for the Korean Service Corps.

The ceremony for 3rd Battalion, 315th Engineer Bn., begins at 10 a.m. During the ceremony, Lt. Col. Gary S. Bonham will relinquish command of the ‘Timberwolf’ Bn. to Lt. Col. James T. Palmer who arrives to Camp Shelby after serving as the capabilities development lead for counter-tunnel technologies with the Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Organization

“Lt. Col. Geis and Lt. Col. Bonham have left a lasting impact on their Soldiers, this command and thousands of our Army Reserve and Army National Guard Partners,” said Col. Jack E. Vantress, 177th Armored Brigade commander. “Lt. Col. Lowmaster and Lt. Col. Parker are arriving at an exciting time, and I look forward to working with both of these leaders as they guide their units in support of the First Army mission.”
