One Female Killed in a Hattiesburg Shooting

HATTIESBURG, MISS. – A shooting Wednesday afternoon left one woman dead and has another in custody for questioning. Hattiesburg Police responded to a report about a shooting taking place in the 600 block of North 25th Avenue around 2:15 p.m. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered one unidentified female deceased at the Merimac Apartment complex. After investigating the scene police took a nearby woman into custody for questioning. “Police have one person that is in custody right now for questioning at this time,” the Hattiesburg Police Department’s spokesman, Ryan Moore said. “They have taken multiple witnesses also to interview them in the process. We do ask that if anybody in the vicinity has any information or saw anything, please contact Hattiesburg police or Metro-Crime Stoppers at 601-582-stop.” Hattiesburg police called this an on-going investigation.
