‘Spearhead’ Brigade to honor retiring First Army Soldiers at Camp Shelby

CAMP SHELBY, MISS. –The 177th Armored Brigade will recognize three retiring First Army Soldiers during a Celebration of Service ceremony at 1 p.m. at the Post Theater here Aug. 23.
Soldiers being recognized during this ceremony are:
SFC Brian Metzger SFC Christopher Smith SSG Brian Garnett
Lt. Col. George Rollinson, commander of 2nd Battalion, 410th Brigade Support Battalion, 177th AR Bde., First Army Division East, will serve as guest speaker for the event.
“These leaders have proudly served our country during one of the pivotal times in our military’s history” said U.S. Army Col. Jack Vantress, commander, 177th AR Bde. “Their unwavering devotion to the mission and our nation for so many years speaks volumes about their character and willingness to serve a cause bigger than themselves. It is truly an honor to recognize them and their families for their years of selfless service.”
