Army STEM Semi Visits Hattiesburg
This press release comes from the U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion.
HATTIESBURG, MISS. – The Army’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) is scheduled to visit area schools Sept. 24 and 25. “We are really excited to bring this asset our area high schools. The STEM is an 18 wheel tractor trailer that is self-contained and climate controlled,” said Capt. Greg Doyen, Hattiesburg Company Commander. “It is an interactive exhibit with state of the art technology focused on STEM.” The STEM is designed to showcase high tech capabilities and opportunities by having students experience the Situation Room, the Mission Room, and the Research and Development Room. The students will be surrounded by fictional news clips about a crisis in Eastern Europe that will place them in the year 2032. Their mission is to avert the crisis using STEM technology exercises and teamwork to accomplish the goal. “This technology is the cutting edge of virtual reality and STEM at work,” said Doyen. “I am really excited to bring this into our community.” The STEM Semi will visit Hattiesburg High School and Petal High School respectively.
