Hattiesburg Zoo Named Best In Mississippi By Reader’s Digest

This is a press release from Hattiesburg Zoo.

HATTIESBURG, MS (April 9, 2019) — Reader’s Digest recently announced the Hattiesburg Zoo as the best zoo in Mississippi. The zoo is featured in a rundown of “The Best Zoo in Every State in America” acknowledging the attraction’s coveted Sloth Experience.

“For what started as a public park to become such an integral part of Hattiesburg, and Mississippi as a whole, is unprecedented and exciting,” stated Jeremy Cumpton, director of conservation, education, and wildlife.

The Hattiesburg Zoo continues to elevate its offerings, building upon its overall mission to foster the public’s appreciation, respect, and knowledge of nature through educational and recreational outlets. Team members work hard to provide fun and memorable experiences, surpassing the expectations of each visitor.

“We have made great strides to better ourselves with every opportunity. None of this would have been possible without our dedicated team and the incredible support we receive from our community,” Jeremy Cumpton added.

The Hattiesburg Zoo is home to nearly 100 species of animals. Construction has begun for a new habitat expansion that will eventually house giraffes. The new exhibit is projected to be complete in 2020. With attractions like High Ropes Adventure Course, Bug Hub playground, cabanas, a splash pad and the Australian Wallaby Walkabout, there is certainly enough fun for the entire family to enjoy.
