Local authorities are asking the public to be on the lookout for a Lamar County man who escaped from a Louisiana hospital after being arrested on grand larceny charges.
Sheriff Danny Rigel says Marty Kinsey, 35, escaped from police custody while in a Covington, Louisiana, hospital and caught a cab to Petal where he was dropped off. Rigel says Kinsey has relatives in Lamar County and Petal.
The sheriff says it all started when Kinsey broke into a home in Lamar County, stole two vehicles, and fled to Louisiana where he was arrested by the Highway Patrol. He complained of health issues and was taken to a hospital where he escaped.
If you have seen or know the whereabouts of Marty Kinsey, contact Crimestoppers at 601-582-STOP.
