NHC: Barry downgraded to Tropical Depression
The National Hurricane Center says Barry is downgrading to a Tropical Depression with 35 m.p.h. maximum sustained winds. However, life-threatening flooding remains a concern into Monday.
Location as of the Sunday 4 p.m. update: 32.8N 93.6W; that's roughly 20 miles north-northeast of Shreveport, Louisiana.
A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for the Pine Belt area through Monday at 7 a.m. The forecast for the rest of the weekend calls for a near 100% chance for thunderstorms. Officials say if you don't have to go outside today, please stay indoors.
