Vasti Jackson, FestivalSouth celebrate golden anniversary of Woodstock

Plans for the official 50th anniversary celebration of Woodstock in the state of New York were canceled earlier this year. But the bad news isn't stopping a local observance.

Vasti Jackson, a renowned local musician, is teaming up with the FestivalSouth organization for a special Woodstock-themed concert October 1, starting at 7:30 p.m., at the Mannoni Performing Arts Center.

Jackson tells FOX23 he'll pay tribute to Jimi Hendrix. The concert will also salute CCR, Santana, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, and many more.
