Vitalant collecting blood donations following Camp Shelby accident
Vitalant, formerly United Blood Services, is collecting blood donations after nearly two dozen soldiers were injured in a training exercise Wednesday. Officials say their injuries are not life-threatening.
"Nationwide blood services provider Vitalant sends its heartfelt concerns to those involved in the Camp Shelby accident," officials said in a statement.
Vitalant's Hattiesburg donation center, located at 805 South 28th Avenue, will be open Thursday, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m., and Sunday from noon until 5 p.m.
